Truman State University beat Upper Iowa 2-0 in men's soccer Wednesday at Harms-Eischeid Stadium in Fayette, Iowa, on two goals by Jacob Panagos, of Truman State, one on a penalty kick.
Panagos converted the penalty kick at 30:42 for a 1-0 halftime lead in the Great Lakes Valley Conference match and scored again at 85:50 on an assist from Russell Woods, of Truman State. Panagos had seven shots, three on goal. Owen Robben, of Truman State, played all 90 minutes in goal for the shutout and made three saves.
Truman State outshot Upper Iowa 12-9 and put six shots on goal to four. Noah Nymark-Pedersen, of Upper Iowa, played all 90 minutes and made four saves. Upper Iowa had four corner kicks to Truman State's two.
Truman State is 5-4-3 and 4-3-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Upper Iowa is 1-7-4 and 1-7-2.
Truman State hosts Missouri S&T at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at Bulldog Soccer Park in Kirksville.
