The Macon R-I Board of Education approved its consent agenda as presented and gave a first reading to 2026B Missouri School Boards' Association policy updates, each on a 6-0 vote, at its Sept. 16 open meeting, according to unapproved open-session minutes the district posted Friday.
Greg Bruno moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. Lydia McClellan seconded. Nick Dille, Bruno, Board President Stacy Quinn, McClellan, Millicent Dawdy, and Bruce Weimer voted for the motion.
The unapproved minutes do not itemize what was on consent. The detailed open agenda listed monthly bills and payroll, Sept. 2 work-session minutes, a dual-credit early childhood agreement with Moberly Area Community College, surplus-property declarations, and a donation to the Macon Rotary Club.
Dawdy moved to approve the first reading and draft of the 2026B MSBA policy updates as presented. Dille seconded. The same six members voted for that motion.
Bruno earlier moved to approve the open-session agenda as presented, with McClellan seconding. That vote was also 6-0.
Quinn called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the District Administration Building, 902 N. Missouri St., and established a quorum. Present were Dille, Bruno, Quinn, McClellan, Dawdy, and Weimer. Donny Wyatt was absent.
Informational reports with no board action included Quinn's president report, Superintendent Bryan Thomsen's report, and administrator reports from the high school, activities office, MACTEC, middle school, elementary school, and the district communication plan. The detailed agenda had listed a track program restructure under the activities report. The unapproved minutes list the activities report under informational items only and record no separate board motion on track.

Weimer moved to adjourn the open session at 6:43 p.m. and reconvene in closed session. McClellan seconded. The vote was 6-0.
