The Macon City Council will meet Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, 106 West Bourke Street, with five rezoning ordinances headlining the agenda.
Three of the proposed ordinances would rezone properties at 1201, 1203, and 1205 N. Rubey Street from R-2 Single Family Dwelling District to R-4 Multi-Family Dwelling District at the request of Paul Lane.
Two additional rezoning requests come from Alvin McElhaney. The first would rezone 1206 East Briggs Drive from R-1 Single Family Dwelling District to B-2 Highway Business District. The second covers an unaddressed empty lot on the south side of East Briggs Drive, adjacent to the 1206 East Briggs property, moving it from R-4 Residential Multi-Family Dwelling District to B-2 Highway Business District.
The council will also consider an ordinance approving a revised plat for the Lakewood Estates subdivision. The revision changes the name of a dead-end street, accepts a new easement for an alternate emergency vehicle turn-around on Lot 2, and releases a previous temporary cul-de-sac easement affecting Lots 1 and 2.
Other new business items include an appointment to the Macon Public Library Board of Trustees, a request to write off uncollectible 2022 personal property taxes, a discussion of the city compost site, and a discussion of city council meeting policy.
The meeting will also include the standard financial report, approval of accounts payable, and reports from the mayor, council, and city administrator. The council is expected to enter closed session under RSMo 610.021(3) for personnel and RSMo 610.021(1) for litigation.
Citizens may attend in person or join remotely via the meeting link posted with the public notice. The agenda was posted May 11 at 12:24 p.m. by City Clerk Mary Lou Craigg.
