Daily brief: Clerk and airport RFQ due today; fire engine bids open to Sept. 28

County jobs. Applications for a full-time deputy county clerk are due Friday at the County Clerk's Office, 101 E. Washington St., Ste. B, according to the county employment listing. A part-time commission administrative assistant remains listed with no posted deadline. The Macon Chronicle previously reported the openings.

Airport. Submittals on the city's request for qualifications for engineering on runway end identification lights and supplemental fuel tanks at the airport are due Friday, according to the Aug. 11 City Council minutes. An award is expected at the October council meeting, the minutes say.

City bids. Sealed bids for the city's 1998 fire engine remain open through 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28. The reserve price is $30,000.

City jobs. The Street Department laborer posting remains open until filled.

Utilities. The Macon Municipal Utilities Board of Public Works next regular meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 22, the fourth Tuesday. The latest posted agenda on the utility site remains Aug. 25.

Beach. Long Branch State Park's public swim beach remains closed for the season, according to the Missouri DNR beach dataset.

City. Minutes from the Sept. 8 regular City Council meeting are still not posted. Thursday's special meeting was noticed for closed session only; no public outcome is posted.

County. The Macon County Commission is not in session Friday. Standing sessions are Mondays and Thursdays.
