Talt Holman defeated Patrick Nasi by 13 votes Tuesday night in the race for Macon mayor, according to unofficial results released by the Macon County Clerk’s office.
Holman received 562 votes to Nasi’s 549, with four write-in ballots recorded, out of 1,115 total votes cast. The 13-vote margin falls two votes outside the threshold that would trigger an automatic recount under Missouri law, which requires the margin to be within one percent of total votes cast. One percent of 1,115 votes is 11.15 votes.
The results are unofficial. Final certification is pending.
In other Macon city races, Steve Olinger won the Ward 1 council seat over Derek Teter, 228 to 109. In Ward 2, Teresa Thrasher led a three-way field with 134 votes, followed by Eric Moots with 118 and Steve Iwanowicz with 88. Theresa Ulrich narrowly defeated Craig Vanderaa in Ward 3, 112 to 107. Cheryl Blaise won Ward 4 over Rick Montgomery, 117 to 91.
Rebecca J. Sims ran unopposed for city collector, receiving 1,023 votes.
Countywide, voters approved the Macon County Capital Improvement measure by a wide margin — 1,848 yes to 451 no, or about 80 percent in favor.
Question 1, which appeared on the countywide ballot, passed 1,398 to 816.
On the Macon County R-1 School Board, with three seats up for election, Bruce Weimer led with 1,089 votes, followed by Millicent Belt Dawdy with 1,086 and Nick Dille with 860. Caleb Mader trailed with 546 votes.
All results are unofficial pending certification by the Macon County Clerk.
