Long Branch State Park closes Nov. 6-11 for managed deer hunt

Long Branch State Park west of Macon will close to the public from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, until sunrise Wednesday, Nov. 11, for a managed deer hunt, according to Missouri State Parks.

Only registered hunters and people working the hunt will be allowed in the park during the closure, the agency said in an alert on the park's web page. All camping areas will be closed, including the special-use camping area, the backcountry campsites, and the boat-in campsites.

The park's campground is already closed for all of 2026 for construction, according to the same page.

The park office can be reached at 660-773-5229. Missouri State Parks lists closures and advisories on its Park and Site Status Map.
