Truman State falls 4-0 at Missouri-St. Louis in women’s soccer

Truman State University lost 4-0 to Missouri-St. Louis in women's soccer Saturday at Don Dallas Field in St. Louis after giving up three goals in the first 16 minutes.

Rachel Skyberg, of Missouri-St. Louis, scored the first goal of the Great Lakes Valley Conference match at 2:40 and set up Ella Anselm, of Missouri-St. Louis, at 5:21, according to the box score. Taylor Martin scored at 15:58 on an assist from Maddie Clark, both of Missouri-St. Louis. Anselm scored again at 69:03 on an assist from Hayley Smith, of Missouri-St. Louis.

Mikayla Thomas, of Truman State, played the first half in goal and Siman Loethen, of Truman State, played the second, according to the play-by-play. Thomas allowed three goals and made one save. Loethen allowed one goal and made two saves.

Missouri-St. Louis outshot Truman State 23-4 and had seven shots on goal to three. Hanna Ritter, of Truman State, had two shots on goal. Ashley Klaus, of Truman State, had one. Allysa Wolf and Hannah McFarlane, of Missouri-St. Louis, combined for three saves. Missouri-St. Louis had 11 corner kicks to none for Truman State.

Ritter received a yellow card at 60:43.

Attendance was 257.

Truman State is 4-4-4 and 3-3-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Missouri-St. Louis is 8-1-2 and 7-0-1.

Truman State plays at Upper Iowa at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, in Fayette, Iowa.
