City of Macon Seeks Bids for Water Tower Maintenance and Painting

The City of Macon Board of Public Works is accepting sealed bids for maintenance and repainting of the 500,000-gallon elevated water storage tank on North Missouri Street. The project scope includes interior and exterior surface preparation, lead paint abatement, application of a three-coat epoxy system, and installation of a new mixing system. Contractors must hold current EPA lead paint certification. Bids are due by 2 p.m. on April 15, 2026, at the Board of Public Works office, 209 N. Rollins Street. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit is scheduled for April 1 at 10 a.m. The tower was last painted in 2008.
