The Macon City Council will take up an ordinance to combine the city water and wastewater systems at its regular meeting Tuesday.
The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 106 W. Bourke St. Residents can join in person or by the remote link posted with the agenda.
The tentative agenda, posted Sept. 4 by City Clerk Anastasia Rucker, lists the ordinance under new business as amending the city code by adding one section combining the water and wastewater systems. The notice does not detail what the combined system would change for rates or management.
Council is also scheduled to award the de-icing material bid. The city earlier sought bids for 75 to 175 tons of Type D-632-94 salt for the 2026-27 season, with sealed quotes due by 1 p.m. Sept. 4 at City Hall.
