The Macon County R-I School District (1-0) beat North Shelby (0-1) 1-0 at 5 p.m. Thursday in the varsity softball opener at home.
The Missouri State High School Activities Association posted the final. MaxPreps posted a box score Thursday night.
Macon R-1 scored its only run in the second inning, according to the MaxPreps box. Both teams had four hits and no errors. Macon R-1 did not bat in the seventh.
North Shelby’s Clara Uhlmeyer pitched six innings, allowed one earned run, and struck out 11, according to MaxPreps. Emmalou Rife had one of North Shelby’s four hits. MaxPreps did not name a Macon pitcher or the player who scored, and the Macon roster on the site is empty.
Macon R-1 is listed Friday and Saturday in the Peoples Bank & Trust Lead Off Classic, according to the MSHSAA schedule. Macon R-1 plays at Centralia at 5 p.m. Monday.
